I just had my oil tank filled for the first time since early in March. My fuel consumption for over 8 months is for an astoundingly wonderful 32.7 US gallons only! (123.8 litres).
I probably used half of that just turning on the furnace once a month May-September to make sure it was running, heating and circulating properly.
I used to use 4 tanks of heating oil a year, one for hot water alone, and now I’m down to less than one, for a net saving to me of over $1800 a year.
How did I use only that in over 8 months? Green technology–a Cansolair RA 240 SOLAR MAX exterior wall mounted forced convection solar furnace running on pennies of electricity a day. The Cansolair has long since paid for itself at about $1800 year savings on a purchase price of $3500 5 years ago this month.
